Bonnie Jeanne Tinker was a political activist who championed the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people and headed the Portland, Oregon organization Love Makes a Family devoted to same-sex families. She was born in 1948 in Boone, Iowa, the daughter of a Methodist minister and official of the American Friends Service Committee who was active in the civil rights and anti-war movements.
